I’ve always wanted to yell, “Are you ready to rock?” or “Thank you, (insert city name here)” from an arena stage, as bright lights and screams rain down. It seems I’m a little closer to my goal in and .
An article about me and Jobless and Less by freelance writer recently hit the newswires. So more small to midsize-market news outlets may sing my praises in the coming days. Seeing where I’ll appear next is like playing the lottery, except there’s a greater chance of winning than being struck by lightning. Here’s a link…
With any luck I can arrange Norm Elrod’s Jobless and Less U.S. tour in the coming months, with blog signings at local unemployment offices and readings in local cafes where other unemployed people huddle to buy internet for two dollars a cup. Maybe – champion of the working class – would open up for me, or my wife’s favorite band , who I would ask to play “Working Man” over and over again. Oh, the irony.
At the moment I’ll have to settle for the groundswell of goodwill. It’s only just starting to go to my head. But keep an eye on your local alt weekly for show dates and ticket info. At those appearances I’ll surely be a lot more full of myself.

Not that I doubt your readers’ ability to detect sarcasm, but nonetheless I feel it necessary to state explicitly that in order for Rush to become my favorite band I would need to become deaf (for obvious reasons) and lobotomized (to erase any existing memories of what the music sounds like).
What I meant to say is that Rush is my wife’s second favorite band, after every other band. Honest mistake.
How about a little Summer-Donna on tour! She works hard for the money.
So you better treat her right!
